Kikeriki Rooster
Origin: Austrian
Age: early 20th century
Size: 9 1/2" x 4"
Notes: The word "Kikeriki" translates into "cock-a-doodle-doo" in English, which is very appropriate as it is incorporated into this design of a walking rooster, dressed in a fancy coat and holding a walking stick. In the late 1800's and early 1900's, there was also a humor magazine titled "Kikeriki" published in Vienna, Austria, but whether or not there is a connection between the two is unclear.
